Santa Letter 2008

Hello friends! Here is a Santa Letter I did for my nephews... they are 6 and 3 years old. I wrote it in nice handwriting and sent it to them from the North Pole! I'm really happy with how it came out... I hope you enjoy seeing it. Ho Ho Ho! MeeeRRRRrrry Christmas!

The lettering was done by hand with microns and a brush pen. The top was done in watercolor and colored pencils.

Here's the first draft of what it was going to say:

"Dear Nathan and Bradley,

Hello to both of you young gentlemen. You have both been such good boys this year and look at how you have grown! In particular, your signatures are growing more mature. I could not help but chuckle to myself when I saw how they have changed since last year. Nathan, your lines are even more confident now! Bradley, I enjoyed seeing the way your letters have formed on the paper! Oh, Ho Ho Ho! Such wonderful boys you are…

You asked about the Elves again this year! They always appreciate that. They are doing very well this year indeed! They wanted me to let you know a little secret too… they think that both of you remind them of one of my elves, you are both similar heights and both have such big hearts! I thought that was nice of them. We are right on schedule and I believe we may even get all the toys and presents ready by 11:30 PM on Christmas Eve this year! We usually work up to the very last second!

You also asked if it was cold here and Golly Gee it is! Would you believe that we actually have more snow than last year?! Yep, The snow mounds are nearing 25 feet and the temperatures are 91degrees below zero! Ol’ Santa and Mrs. Claus have to keep a fire going in our chimney and wear two shirts below our sweaters just to fight off the shivers! BrrrRRR! Good thing I love the cold. I am glad you have been enjoying your nice weather in Colorado. I’m sure it has gotten much colder since you sent your letter to me on November 1st though.

Let’s get to the fun part! You have asked for some hard-to-find gifts this year! I’m sure I can pull a few strings to make sure you get, as Bradley would say ,”What me’s always wanted!”

Nathan: Let me get this right… you wanted Star Wars, Indiana Jones or Speed Racer legos. I noticed that you have already gotten some of those toys! How fun! You also asked for some Star Wars Figures. Plo Koon and Captain Rex are some of my favorites too! You have on here two Wii games—Lego Batman and Sims Kingdom. What else is on your list? Ahh, A remote controlled Speed Racer car! That is a HOT gift this year. I’ll see what I can do! I also see that you have already gotten Invincible Iron Man so I’ll see what other Iron Man toys we may have that you would like.

Bradley: You wanted some Handy Manny toys. Is that right? I think that that might be possible. I see here you also want the Fire Truck and Station. I know just which one you are talking about! You also requested Star wars figures—you love that Battle Droid! You also want a Speed Racer remote control car just like your brother. I think you would have a great time playing with the remote control cars together! I also see on here the V Smile Blues Clues game. I’ll bet that will be a fun one. I will talk it over with the elves and see what we can do.

That’s it!… Such thoughtful children you are! It is really great how you both have asked for only 5 gifts each this year. You know, that makes my job so much easier!
I’m looking forward to all of those delicious cookies on Christmas night! In fact, I diet most of the year just to be able to fit all those wonderful cookies in my tummy! Your cookies are consistently some of my favorite in the whole world each year. No kidding!

I have no doubt that you will both be quite happy with your presents this year. I have faith that you will both be quite satisfied. Eat some cookies for me and have a Merry Christmas! Mrs. Claus sends her Love too! Be sure to get to bed early on Christmas Eve night so I have plenty of time to deliver all of my presents.
